The 28th of October, a general election is held in Colombia. Some change is needed and while exiting the country, I need to put my fingerprint on the country. I sign up for the race for presidency and this is my political manifest. A manifest based on truth, observations and a profound interest in the wellbeing of a wonderful country.

For the better of the country, continent and the world in general, these are my main areas of focus when greeting 2008 welcome sometime in the future.

Food
The matter of food is a matter of general wellbeing. Food is vital and the source to the health of each and one of us. The consumption of solids define everyones everyday life, but for us to survive as a nation, we need to innovate the food culture. We need to resent the usage of saturated fats. We need to decrease the amount of general fats in our food. Fat is a silent killer. Fat is a contraception. Fat is what ruins the economy of the country. Tourist won’t eat our meals because they are too fatty. Lower the content of fat and the tourists will gladly pay the price for a meal - a consequence we can all live with. Exploit them for every cent they have, but do it in a subtle way. They should feel welcome, not used.

The clothes industry can’t keep up with the increasing threat of obesity in the country. As I walk on the streets, I see women in all sizes wearing the same size clothes. Women bearing the weight of marriage, children, cooking and work on their shoulders but the smallest size of clothes. Women with nothing but their diet to think about wearing the same size clothes. This is not right. We need to get more women into the industry of making bigger clothes for bigger women. They need the room in their clothes as they need the room in their kitchen. Don’t let the clothings be a burden to them anymore. Future women towards slimmer and healthier bodies but present women carrying their weight with dignity is my goal. Deep fried dished, white bread, rice and candy should be a treat to us all - not the general everyday life. We will not degenerate because of our food. We will prevail for our intellect and friendliness. Those folks with fat problems, should be helped, but lets not focus on difficulties - lets just get a solution innovated.

Crime
The backbone of this country is honesty, but unfortunately I have seen the dark side of the moon throughout my journeys in this country. It is sad, when I see poverty amongst fellow Colombians. It is sad, when I witness greediness amongst equals. It is sad, when I see angry tourists at a random bus terminal at approximately 08:35 in the morning of a random day of a random week, when they realize that they have been robbed. It is sad to look into their face as they realize that their very valuable and needed Scarpa Nepal Pro mountain boots have been robbed from their backpack, while they were sitting comfortably in their seat in a bus from one friendly town to another. It is sad to see, that they resent Colombians just because of the behaviors of some. It is sad to see, that the criminals, who actually perform these crimes, cross themselves in the name of Maria Magdalena with one hand and carries the fine boots in the other hand. It is sad to see, that people from the mountains, with an average height of a general dwarf, tend to steal boots the size of canoes - with no real usage of them at all.

I condemn this behavior and for those being tempted by easy cargo, I will personally break thy nose. Breaking the law is one thing, but when the moral of a tourist is broken, there is nothing more to break. Tourism is needed in this country. Lets welcome it and lets treat random people from Norway with the same respect as we treat our own kin. Lets make them give us their money - lets not fight for their money.

Transport
The nerve system in our country, is our infrastructure, but it need to be more effective to return a decent profit. A car with room for six people should not have two employees. A bus with room for 20 passengers should not have 4 people working at the bus. A bus station should not have 15 people working with getting passengers for one single route across the country. People need to choose for themselves and we need to understand that a person won’t travel to a destination he does not intent to travel to, just because we are insisting on that the bus is nice and it is a cheap price. If the man wants to go to the supermarket, he should not be bothered by offers to buy a trip in a bus to the other side of the country.

We need to build proper roads or give most cars better shock absorbers. It is highly unpleasant sitting in a car without proper shock absorbers for more than 5 minutes, when the road seems like the remains of Berlin 1945. For the obese people it might not be a problem, but for the regular person with an average BMI, the strain on their skinny ass, is sometimes more than comfort can allow.

We need proper timetables and we need trustworthy drivers that actually keep these timetables. We need to understand the value of time - just like the western countries. Their buses leave on time. We want to leave on time, no matter where we are leaving for. And if we have to respect other peoples time. We need to help each other and start looking at the clock at our right arm. For those without a watch, I invite you all to look at the arm of the fellow man next to you. Poverty should not keep us from keeping the time.

Animal rights
Animals are the victims of heavy burdens in this country. They earn respect and friendliness from our humans. We raise above them in every way possible and they can’t help for being without opposing thumbs. A horse don’t even have a thumb, but lets not judge them because of that! Lets embrace horses and make them a respected member of our community. The same with donkeys, cats, dogs, chickens and birds. Turkeys are an exception, mainly because they make the most useless noise in the animal kingdom, but God has created every one of us in his image and we should embrace that. Turkeys are an exception, mainly because they are too ugly to earn respect for their presence. Even though turkeys are a mystery of existence, they should have the right to be amongst us, but let us please put them in dark corners to prevent any influence from them.

As a general rule, animals should not be allowed to carry more than ¾ of their weight. Animals suffer from our abuse and many a horse carry scars of misconduct on their skinny body. Every creature on this planet deserves respect and no one should be abused from the superior man kind and no animal should be forced to carry the heavy burden. Except for the ants - that is what they do for a living.

Public Littering
This country is literally being buried in litter and for every moment in time, the mountain of litter raises unnoticed from the ditches on each side of the road, from the streets in the city and from every parking lot. We need to place more waste bins in every part of the country and we need to make people understand that plastic, cans, glass and paper does not belong in the nature. I have sad experiences with for instance cab drivers that will throw every can of beer out the window. He will throw every bit of paper out the window and he will throw any non-biodegradable item out the window, just because it is convenient. I have witnessed the same cab driver refusing to throw a banana peal out the window and when this sight entered my senses, I thought "how is this possible?". A banana peal is organic and will be consumed by nature faster than we can imagine, but a beer can will never be absorbed by nature. I have witnessed drivers who would throw more or less anything out the window if they could and I am sad to say, that I believe anyone would actually throw a car out the window if it was possible. Even if it is pretty hard to drive around the streets with just a window, the mentality of throwing items out windows must be altered. Whenever throwing something out the window, lets start thinking like the nature itself: would I like to get this junk thrown in my face?

Rural policy
Farmers high up in the mountains, are leading a hard life and these people can be saved. We should invite these farmers into the cities, so we can take advantage and embrace their working strength. They have a strong working moral and are a valuable asset in our country. They are also cheap in labor.

We need to provide Internet for all regions in the country and we need to provide bigger keys on every keyboard in rural areas, to comply with the chubby fingers of the Indians residing high up in any mountain. They are challenged every time they face a computer and this is not right. They should use a computer at the same level as us from the lowlands and the farmers should not be afraid of embracing technology. After all, they need the education that the computers provide.

Public health
This country is living on a lie. This country is living on false pretensions. This country is living on the edge of visual collapse. As more and more accepts plastic surgery as a means of achieving status, popularity or just general beauty, we undermine the authority of our country. A country should not be judged by the photographic beauty of a CEO or the bra size of a sexcretary, no - we should be judged by our intellect, physical endurance, long life expectancy and natural behavior.

Think of the possible mental strain and the enormous psychic consequences a child will be put through, when they grow up to be butt ugly while both of their parents are picture perfect. We cannot allow our country to drown in its own fake beauty. We need to reduce the amount of plastic surgery among our own people and offer the service to other countries that really needs it - like USA, as one example. We have the technology and we need to contribute to its development and Americans are an everlasting flow of Guinea pigs - especially the Hollywood citizens.

Education
Colombians are a people of trade and we need to expand our expertise in this field. All people should have the offer to learn how to read, calculate and cook home made meals, but we need to focus on communication and perception of human behavior. A potential customer will not buy more just because the salesperson insist harder on the fantastic benefits of his product. We need to study and understand the correlation between demand and supply. No customer will but more just because a salesperson shouts louder. No shop will generate income, if the shop next to it and the next one after that shop again actually sells the same item. Customers should be able to choose and just because a salesperson comes running towards a customer, does not mean that the customer will buy something. We also need to get rid of all fake items in the streets. Fake items attract fake attention and fake attention brings fake currency.

We also need to focus on general and basic education. Communication is the backbone of our society and it is one of the most important areas to improve, innovate and most of all - ameliorate. The alphabet is here to stay and the words composed of the letters in the alphabet are what we use to understand each other. Every single letter in a word is important and we all need to pronounce each single letter so that everyone can understand us. We cannot change the way of pronunciation just because we feel like it. As the pronunciation is the most important part of our daily interaction with everyone around us, the meaning of words are also a necessary area of focus that we all need to worship, to become fluent in our own language. Speaking properly is a human duty and when some people, defining their own subculture of language with no real reference in modern society but when all words are accounted for, we will need to improve and gather common experiences to stand tall towards the common threat of globalism. This needs to be done before "ze germans" gets here.

Environment
The nation is overgrown with plastic and to be able to preserve the effects of the non-decomposable material that it is, we need to raise the price on this fabulous product. We have over 70 million plastic chairs in this country in every color of the rainbow, but we can face a major problem in near future. If the manufacturer issues an upgrade to the chairs, our grand nation will stand in front of a grand economical challenge. How will we handle the disposal of 70 million plastic chairs and how will we handle the dispatch of 70 million new chairs? We need to kick start the process of exchanging the chairs with something more durable and more stable than plastic chairs. The government does to this day not have a environmentally friendly plan and I hereby encourage every one of the Colombian voters, to post their comment on how to deal with 70 million stray chairs. This is a national issue and we all need to handle this subject with utmost respect. Any comment will be judged by a jury and future income will depend on the issues proposal.

For the future
Even though some of these issues will work against the uniqueness of our grand country, I don’t really care. As a tourist I have already been in the country and everyone speaks Spanish anyway. Nature is everywhere and Discovery Channel produces descent color reproduction of it everyday of the week. Just vote for me and the country will be like any other - it can’t be that bad?!
